Do you accept insurance?

Vitality does not accept insurance for office visits. After each appointment, patients are given a superbill (itemized health care receipt) that can be submitted to private insurance. Vitality does not submit the paperwork for patients.

Are blood and other tests, such as saliva, stool and urine, covered by insurance?

We schedule blood draws in the office, on a separate day from your visit. The laboratory we use for processing will file with your insurance for most of the basic tests that are recommended. There are several specialty blood draws and test kits that are a cash price. When you check-out from your initial and follow-up visit, we will review the lab recommendations and let you know the cost of any tests not covered by insurance. You will know the out-of-pocket costs prior to doing any testing.

We do not work with insurance companies, but are happy to give you a paid receipt and your check out sheet with the required codes if you would like to submit for reimbursement. Often, insurance companies request lab results and practitioner notes before deciding whether to reimburse for practitioner appointments. Since we do not take insurance, those items will not be provided. Most insurance companies do not pay for functional medicine, so we recommend you contact your insurance company prior to submitting for reimbursement.
