Are Vitality practitioners Primary Care Physicians (PCPs)?
No, our practitioners are not primary care physicians. We recommend selecting another health care professional for those needs.
Does Vitality accept insurance?
Vitality does not accept insurance for office visits. After each appointment, patients are given a superbill (itemized health care receipt) that can be submitted to private insurance. Vitality does not submit the paperwork for patients.
Are blood and other tests, including advanced functional medicine tests, covered by insurance?
We use MedScan for standard blood tests and they are typically covered by insurance.
Blood tests such as for mold toxicity and Lyme disease are generally not covered. For all other tests that may be covered, we recommend patients check with their insurance company to see if the test is covered. In some instances, patients can choose the cash pay option and not go through insurance. You will know the out-of-pocket costs prior to having any tests ordered.
Depending on the type of insurance, some of the following tests may be covered:
GI Map Stool
Great Plains Organic Acids
The following tests are not covered by insurance:
DNA Connexions (Lyme testing)
Great Plains Mycotoxin Panel
KBMO Fit Test (food sensitivity)
Vibrant (Lyme Panel, Total Toxic Burden)
